13th June 2017, London.
This year we commemorate 20 years since the Judith Trusts foundation. To celebrate all we have achieved we will hold a special event, to thank those who have contributed to our successes and to welcome existing and new partners who will participate in our path ahead.
This lunch and seminar will take place on 13th June 2017 and be held at the Royal College of Nursing in London. The programme will be from 11am- 3.30pm
We are delighted that the event will be Co-Chaired by Professor Sheila the Baroness Hollins and Rabbi Baroness Julia Neuberger DBE. Our keynote speaker Hazel Watson – Head of Mental Health and Learning Disabilities, NHS England – will address our invited guests to the current context facing those with a co-morbid learning disability and mental health problem and also hear about the future role for the charity sector. There will also be contributions from those we have helped with grants and the ultimate beneficiaries.
Participants of CAN’s Women Wise Project, a health education programme developed for women with learning disabilities, based in Northern Ireland, will present about the impact of this project. There will also be a performance from Mind The Gap Theatre Company. They will present an interactive Forum Theatre piece that explores scenarios that may be experienced by learning-disabled people when they consider being, or become, a parent.
This is also an opportunity for professionals, including CEO’s or Strategic Leads for charities, academics, clinical psychologists specialising in learning disability, representatives from Government Departments and Grant making bodies to network.
